The brand reveals that it would charge an out-of-warranty service fee of $229, $329 and $2,800 for the Sport, Watch and Edition models respectively. These charges are for repairs not included by Apple’s limited one-year warranty or AppleCare+ extended coverage scheme. The brand has also made available out-of-warranty battery service, which is priced at $79 in addition to an applicable $6.95 shipping charge.This service will be provided to all those nine countries, where Apple is planning to launch its smart watch in first phase; these countries include United States, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan and United Kingdom. It goes without saying that service charges will differ as per the currency of local markets.

Apart from this service, Apple will also offer express replacement service for its smart watch consumers that shop for AppleCare+ for this watch plan. On consumer’s request, the brand will dispatch a package to return an Apple watch for repair or service, and ship the replacement unit around two or three business days later. Given the brand image of Apple, it is needless to say that you will get the same model you originally bought.
Good news is that express replacement service is free for the Apple watch. However, consumers should keep in mind that Apple will charge a late or non-return fee of $35.50 to $60.50 (Sport), $85.50 to $135.50 (Watch) or $2,600 to $3,600 (Edition) if the brand does not receive your original Apple Watch after more than 10 business days.
